The region of Central Coast in Australia is one of the most beautiful and fascinating areas in the world, filled to the brim with interesting places to visit and exciting things to do. The month of August plays host to a large variety of events to take part in that will please everyone. If you’re currently searching for Central Coast accommodation, the following events take place all throughout the month of August, which means that you can find something to enjoy no matter during which part of the month you’re visiting.

August Events for Central Coast

The many events in August range all the way from sporting events to arts and crafts events. Through the first days of August, visitors can catch glimpses of the conclusion of two art exhibits that began during July, known as Simplicity and War at Sea. Simplicity is an exhibit of some newer works put together by local Australian artist Richard O’Farrell in the Foyer Gallery. The exhibit officially comes to a close on the 5th of August. As for War at Sea, this exhibit consists of stories and accounts of the Royal Australian Naval Sailors during WW1. This graphic panel exhibition ends on August 8 and resides at the Tuggerah Library.

One of the more renowned local artists is that of Peter Smeeth. His Portraits exhibition at the Gosford Regional Gallery can be viewed throughout the entirety of the month. For the first eight days of August, music lovers will find a lot to like with Legally Blond: The Musical, which is presented by the Gosford Musical Society at the Laycock St. Theatre. The Great Euro Circus, which is known as the largest circus in all of Europe, is touring through Central Coast for the first time ever and is available for children and adults alike during the initial nine days of August. Anyone that’s interested in learning more about health and wellness and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle should consider attending the Tarragal Glen Wellness Expo, which takes place on August 1 at the Tarragal Manor and includes a complimentary and delicious lunch for all visitors.

Hope: Global is hosting a festival on the 1st of August, which will feature live music, gourmet picnic hampers, a live auction, wine tasting and a lot more. If you have children or are yourself a fan of the beloved Pixar film Cars, the Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour is coming to Westfield Tuggerah on the 8th of August. This attraction takes place inside a large mobile of the popular Mack the Transporter character. The Sydney Comedy Festival will be on the road in the early days of August and is making a stop at Laycock St. Theatre. This comedy festival plays host to performances by well known national and international comedians. The festival will stop by the Theatre on August 14-15.

For a glimpse at a wide range of local arts and crafts, as well as a large selection of produce by local farmers, visit the Entrance Farmers Markets, which is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of August. If you want to support a good cause, the Central Coast Disability Network is hosting the Rock and Roll Dance on the 21st of August in order to support the Brain Injury Awareness Week. The dance will take place at diggers@the entrance and will include dinner, dessert and lots of entertainment, including memorable performances by the Central Coast Survivors Choir and the Blue Suede Shoes dance company. Fans of pro wrestling should mark their calendars for August 21, as Australia’s live touring act of Pro Wrestling is going to be at Club Toukley and will feature all of the best and most popular Australian pro wrestlers.

On August 22, visitors can go to the Breakers Country Club for the Snow Collective movie premiere, which also plays host to a fundraiser to find a cure for brain cancer. The Bon Jovi Tribute Band is set to put on a performance at Club Toukley on August 29. This performance costs $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Starting on August 29th and running for two weeks is the Yarramalong Spring Festival, which contains a wide variety of art shows to see and events to participate in, including the Scarecrow Competition, Twin Valleys Art Show, Valley High Tea and Gaelic Gathering in the Valley. Fashion lovers will definitely want to check out the Recycled Chic Market, one of the area’s best designer label fashion markets. This market occurs on the 30th of August and takes place at the East Gosford Progress Hall.
