The final month of the year holds some of the biggest events that bring thousands to the Central Coast every day of the month. Concerts, exhibitions, markets, kids’ entertainment are just a few of the plethora of fun to experience. Make the most of your Central Coast accommodation with the whole family! A handy itinerary below outlines key events taking place in December 2015 that will invigorate your whole group, whether a couple, a family, or friends!

December 2015 events have been split into two groups (MISCELLANEOUS & HOLIDAY), each organized by date.


1. Live From 5

When: Friday, December 4 (5PM+)
Where: Kibble Park/ Gosford CBD
What: A family-friendly celebration involving music, performances, and chalk art to celebrate December’s opening weekend. Perfect for families seeking a mellow, relaxing Friday evening. Adults will enjoy live acts, and kids can partake in games and face-painting!

2. The Weekend: Live Entertainment

When: December 5 & 19 (10AM+)
Where: The Entrance/ Memorial Park
What: A string of family-friendly weekend opening celebrations, with live music, performers, and games for the kids. These events will last through the day and go on during other local events, so a variety of choice is at your hands!

3. The Entrance: Farmers Market

When: Saturday, December 5 (8AM- 1:00PM)
Where: The Entrance/ Memorial Park
What: A family-friendly gathering where produce, art, and other crafts are showcased in any weather and climate present that day. Adults will enjoy browsing the collection of edibles, and children will enjoy the colorful crafts!

4. Small Works Art Prize Exhibition

When: December 9 & 23 ( 10AM- 4:00PM)
Where: 391 Mann St/ North Gosford
What: A family-friendly art competition where participants of all ages and experience submit their own artwork with the 2015 theme “SENSEational”, which focuses on art and crafts that stimulate the five senses and incorporate the Central Coast. Deadlines for submission have ended but the exhibitions and judging are still to come! Judges will award prizes to the best works and ALL art will be on sale for $80. Come enjoy the work that kids and adults alike have to show!

5. Putt for Dough Putting Competition

When: Saturday, December 12 (9:30AM +)
Where: 19 Murna Rd/ Davistown
What: A First Come/ First Serve family-friendly golfing competition open ONLY to the first 60 contestants (Get there early!). Compete for cash awards including $1,000, $250, & $150 prizes and watch others compete in this mini golf tournament that will keep you entertained the whole day!

6. Lost Paradise Festival

When: December 9-21, (CONSTANT 72 HOUR EVENT)
Where: 69 Glenworth Valley Cooks Road/ Glenworth Valley
What: A teen-friendly/ adult-friendly three day celebration. A lineup of over 20 music acts, art, food, and camping tent cities will provide variety for your whole group!


1. Christmas Tree Lighting

When: Saturday. December 5 (5PM- 9:30PM)
Where: The Entrance/ Memorial Park
What: A FREE family-friendly string of festivities that include art and modeling for the kids, live orchestras for the adults, and picnics with your own private spot. Bring your own picnic basket and enjoy the festival that ends with the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree!

2. Christmas Lights in the Gardens

When: December 18 & 22 (6:30PM-9:30PM)
Where: Parklands Road/ Mt Penang Parklands
What: A family-friendly event with emphasis on the kids. Live animals, light mazes, jumping castles, and Elsa from Frozen are there to greet the little ones and the whole family!

3. Shelly beach Markets

When: Saturday, December 19 (9AM- 2PM)
Where: The Entrance/ Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College
What: A family-friendly gathering consisting of fashion, home, and art markets. A separate kid’s zone will keep the kids entertained while you shop and enjoy live music!

4. Christmas Eve Carols

When: Thursday, December 24 (6:30PM+)
Where: Kibble Park/ Gosford CBD
What: A family-friendly Christmas Eve celebration with live caroling groups, coffee, light refreshments, and Christmas countdown!

5. New Year’s Eve on the Coast!

When: Thursday, December 31 (6PM+)
Where: 64 Dover Rd/ Wamberal NSW
What: The family-friendly/Adult-friendly unbelievably massive, final event of the year! Kids can come and enjoy countless activities and music, and adults can stay late for drinks and mega-concert featuring legendary artists such as: Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Bee gees, Credence, Blues Brothers, and more! Then prepare for a final countdown to 2016 with a firework finale. The perfect closing to your stay in the Central Coast!
